Coffee Time

Evan loves to be just like mommy and daddy.  And letting him hold my coffee mug was just too cute not to allow.

Potty Training

Evan decided he was interested in potty training around 20 months.  It's a long process.  As our excitement about it has grown, his interest has lessened.  But it has made for some interesting-and surprisingly sweet-moments.

Pizza Making

My husband is a pro in the kitchen.  My son loves to get messy and help with everything.  The two of them in the kitchen together making pizza was definitely a moment I had to capture.

Striped Pajamas

I just love these striped pajamas.  And the kid who wears them...

A Grandma's Love

Oh my gosh, my mother!  There are not words to express what an amazing woman/mother/grandmother she is.  She knows our needs before we need them.  She is strong and sweet.  She's giving and gracious.  She's amazing!

At Christmas, I got a few shots of her with my son and nieces.  These photos are so beautiful to me!

Christmas Jammies

'Twas the night before Christmas...

Okay, 'twas the day I got some presents wrapped, dressed my son in his Christmas jammies, and attempted to get a photo....while he opened a present for his cousin.  But a small price to pay for these photos!

Fall at Blackhawk State Park

I spent most of October saying I wanted to get out and photograph the fall colors.  We've had A-M-A-Z-I-N-G weather this fall, so I've spent lots of time outside...but not with my camera by my side.  A few weekends ago, we finally made a quick trip to Blackhawk State Park for a walk, and I was able to capture a few images I am happy with...

The Moon

There was a Super Moon Monday...this particular one won't occur until 2034.  I was so excited to see the large, bright moon and try my hand at photographing it.  Unfortunately, the clouds and location of my house made it impossible for me to see the moon until it was pretty high in the sky.  My patience paid off and I was able to snap a few shots.

Around the House -- Black & White

I have found I could spend all day following my son around, taking pictures of what he's doing.  He is constantly on the move and always into something new.  Capturing the candid moments is what I've come to find makes me most happy...especially when I get a few photos like these.

(Pumpkin) Painting

Pumpkin painting in our house this Halloween season quickly became about painting everything else!

Easter Babies

Have you ever tried to get a child to sit still and look at the camera?  Not easy, right?  How about getting three children, two of which are 9 months old, to all sit still and look at the same time?  Impossible.  Especially when the picture entails bunny ears and plastic eggs.  But you do your best...

9 Months Old

I still remember thinking the first 6 weeks of Evan's life seemed to last forever.  I was waking up every hour or two, nursing non-stop, and was getting used to being a new mom.  Fast forward 9 months.  Sleep happens in longer shifts, but we're still up by 5am every day, but the biggest exhaustion comes from chasing this guy around.  He's quite the scooter and getting pictures isn't always easy.  But so worthwhile when I get a keeper!

8 Months Old

Wow, the months are flying.  I somehow have an 8 month old at home.  A sitting, baby food eating, wanting to walk 8 month old.  His soulful blue eyes can melt any heart, and his giggle is absolutely contagious.  Sleeping through the night isn't his strongest attribute, but his happiness during the day (coupled with caffeine) makes up for that.

First Homecoming

I met Clair when she was no more than 8 or 9 years old...and somehow now she's a freshman in high school--and going to her first Homecoming.  Clair has such a fun personality, and I know she's going to grow up to do great things!

Mom & Daughter Shoot

I was so fortunate to photograph my friend Lindsey; her mom, Paula; her aunt, Marcia; and her cousin, Stacy last weekend.  Lindsey's mom lives in Florida and these photos were a great chance for them to have a memory to hold on to, especially on the days they miss each other most.

Lindsey keeps saying she'll be moving to Florida soon.  And I don't blame her.  I would miss my mom dearly if I lived a half days drive from her.  But I'll miss Lindsey when that day comes!  It will definitely be bittersweet.

4 Months

It's amazing how quickly time goes, especially when you are watching your child grow.  This past month seemed to be filled with milestones, including rolling over and giggling.  This little guy is getting so strong, and I'm looking forward to capturing every second.

The Faces of a 4 Year Old

My oldest niece turned 4 this summer!  I have been terrible about getting pictures of her since my own baby was born--and even worse about getting pictures of my newest little niece born just two weeks before Anika's 4th birthday.
